Acne
Acne
is the most common skin disease. Nearly 17 million people in the United
States have it. Acne, or acne vulgaris, is a skin problem that starts
when oil and dead skin cells clog up your pores. When you have just a
few red spots, or pimples, you have a mild form of acne. Acne, commonly
called pimples, has always been a problem--not only to the teenagers but
also to the adults.
Acne is most common in teenagers, but it can happen at any age, even as
an infant. Three out of four teenagers have acne to some extent,
probably caused by hormonal changes that stimulate oil production.
Acne
in young women tends to be more random and linked to hormone changes,
such as the menstrual cycle. Acne is a skin condition that shows up as
different types of bumps. They include whiteheads, blackheads, red bumps
(pimples), and bumps that are filled with pus (pustules).
Acne is not caused by diet. No scientific connection has been found
between diet and acne. Acne of any severity usually remits spontaneously
by the early to mid-20's, but a substantial minority of patients,
usually women, may have acne into their 40's; options for treatment may
be limited because of childbearing. Many adults occasionally develop
mild, isolated acne lesions. Acne usually affects teenagers or young
adults to some extent. The disease is not only evident in adolescence
but can occur in any age group...

Breakouts
Acne
breakouts are the result of too much build-up of dead skin cells and too
much oil. These substances clog the pores of the skin, hence, creating a
problem. Acne breakouts may be embarrassing and painful, and can result
in permanent scarring of the face and body.
People of any age can
experience breakouts of acne, although according to the Mayo Clinic,
teenagers are more likely to have acne. Acne breakouts need to be
treated as you normally would and my patients have tolerated routine
acne care well.
Acne breakouts frequently occur on the face, neck, chest and shoulders
where oil glands concentrate just beneath the skin's surface. Acne
pimples may occur at any age but they are most common during adolescence
when fluctuating hormones cause rapid skin cell reproduction that may
result in clogged pores and hair follicles.
Acne breakouts are not a health threat themselves but acne breakouts can
lead to permanent scarring, therefore acne treatment is highly
desirable. The good news is acne is almost always treatable... To read more, click here →

Cysts
Skin
cysts may be defined as sacs or capsules that are formed in the skin
or inside the body. Cyst may contain fluid or semisolid material. Skin
cysts appear as tiny lumps that can be felt under the skin. In order to
determine the severity of the skin disease present a doctor will conduct various diagnostic tests. Skin cysts and
other irritations can be treated with medication.
Skin cysts are normal and can appear anywhere in the body to a person of
any sex and to people of any age group. Cysts, normally contains a semi
liquid, semi solid or gas like matter. Skin cysts are generally slow
growing and painless -- and often disappear on their own.
Some cysts do need to be drained; others may become infected and need to
be drained. Skin cysts are histologically distinct as an epithelial
lined sac that is filled with cellular debris such as keratin or sebum.
They are commonly located under the skin and often have a punctum, or
opening on the skin, which is a remnant of an old pore.
Sebaceous cysts are often the result of swollen hair follicles, or skin
trauma. Sebaceous cysts most often disappear on their own and are not
dangerous. Sebaceous is a kind of protein that is a cause to cerate a
sac of cells called sebaceous cysts or skin cysts. So these bumps, which
you can feel under the layer of your skin, are actually the sac of
cells...

Pimples
Pimples
are things that happen to everyone. Just because you get a pimple does
not mean that it's the end of the world. Pimples are the hardest nuts to
crack for many of the teenagers.
Pimples on face are natural to everyone
and could easily be treated as they are at the reach our hands. Pimples
are caused by a collection of oil, bacteria, and dead cells trapped in
the lining of the pore. Normally, the lining of the hair follicle sheds
a layer of dead skin cells every day.
Pimples are a very common problem for people around the world. Pimples
can affect men or women and can strike at any age. Pimples are very
similar to acne in the sense that they form when the pores on your skin
become blocked or infected. Pimples may even result from acne that
becomes inflamed. Pimples are small skin lesions that are typically
caused by clogged pores. There are a few types of pimples that can
develop on the face and body.
Pimples are rounded and small, usually inflamed swellings of the skin,
also called papule or pustule. Pimples are variants of acne, but mild in
nature. Pimples are embarrassing and can be frustrating when trying to
get rid of them. Doing the wrong things can cause you to breakout.
Pimples are due to over activity of the sebaceous glands located at the
base of the hair follicles, especially on the face, back, chest, and
shoulders. They are a visible and palpable hallmark of acne... To read more, click here →

Zits
Zits
are usually found on the skin of the face, neck, chest and shoulders.
Nearly six out of ten young people between the ages of twelve and
twenty-four have from some zits.
They are caused by the build up of dead
skin cells, dirt, and oil in your pores. You may get an occasional zit,
like I do, or you may get a face full of zits. Zits are what happen when
the oil glands in your skin get clogged and pus is what comes out when
you pop them. But don't pop them!
So, using
benzoyl peroxide cream can help you get rid of
zits. Zits are mainly caused due to the excessive production of sebum, a
type of oil generated by the sebaceous glands.
The sebum blocks the hair follicles and the pores of the skin with oil,
dead skin and bacteria. Zits are caused by many things. One of the
causes of zits is stress.

Zits are the pits, but acne is just something you have to face during
puberty and possibly adulthood.
When daily treatments aren't enough, or
when you want to get rid of a blemish quickly, overnight (or spot)
treatments can be effective additions to your acne fighting arsenal.
